A Word on Tedium

There are 116-118 elements on the periodic table. Let me tell you how I know this.

Yesterday my boss asked me to use her label maker and print out the atomic mass numbers because the 4 charts she bought for the tutoring center lacked that pertinent information. After printing they then had to be trimmed down to fit in the space allotted. So 116 x 4 = over 7 hours of work and a minor case of carpal tunnel.
And while this sucks, I figure it's the least I can do to earn my wage, rather than sitting around doing my homework.

Wow. That sounds pretty slow. But at least you weren't doing anything else!

My favorite element also happens to have my lucky number of protons: Tungsten 74!

Did you reminisce about all the roller coasters we invented in Element Land?

I love the mental image of teenage Toni and teenage Thad playing Rollercoaster Tycoon together and coming up with things like Element Land.

that's the spirit! I need to start thinking that when they hand me 4 huge boxes of christmas cards to stuff, seal, sticker, stamp, and label. But now I don't know when I will do my homework...at home!?!
