Political Aspirations

Let me tell you something about the Political Science Department.
It's not about science at all.
and it's really easy.

All you need to know to do well in any Political Science Class
by Toni Gaines.

You should understand basic differences between Communism and Capitalism.

If you want to do really well in a Political Science class

You should understand basic differences between Communism and Capitalism
and have a basic understanding of History and Geography.

If you want to excel in a Political Science class

You should understand basic differences between Communism and Capitalism.
and have basic understanding of History and Geography
and read the paper or watch the news at least twice a week.

the end.

I choose not to waste time with the news because if they talk about it in class, and I have a basic understanding of the differences between Communism and Capitalism, I can infer what is going on and why people care.

So . . . what kind of person fails at Political Science?

(FYI-- I'm Jancisco's co-worker and a political science major as well.)

I agree with your list, and enjoyed it, too!

There are people that fail at Political Science, but I think they must try pretty hard. It's actually amazing how stupid some people are.

I suppose the only way to fail is if you honestly just didn't go to class and didn't take any tests or do any part of any paper.

You know what would be better than being a PoliSci major? Becoming an English major and spending all day diagraming sentences with me. I now know all the same things I knew in fourth grade!

I think you nailed it and according to Thomas Freedman the communist experiment is a dead fossilized remnant of past errant thinking anyway, so do we really need to know it? Perhaps it would be more accurate to say Socialism in today's world, there are still people who think that socialism (of which communism was a derivative that was never done right, according to Marx) might work out.
Failing at anything in today's education system has very little to do with knowledge, intelligence, or understanding. It is all based on diligence and work. The stuff you do can be horrible, but if you do it you'll get by....because education is the epitome of socialism "from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs".

I just read a quote by Woody Allen that corresponds with this post well: "80% of success is showing up."

I don't know the difference between communism and capitalism. Don't hate me. Or think I'm stupid.
