Gillespie Reunion 2K17

Between trips, I was in charge of the Gillespie Family Reunion because Anna and Eliza started planning it as soon as we got back from the last family reunion.
So we started off with dinner up at our favorite South Fork park in the canyon. Grampa served us delicious dutch oven dino nuggets, bbq chicken, potatoes and watermelon. The kids played in the river and with stomp rockets. It was pretty fun.

The next day was a cousin-centric day with challenges, obstacle courses, a bounce house water slide and a baking show stopper.

This was the ninja laser course that Anna was in charge of, they loved it.

Adult challenge: stack the 4 chairs as high as possible. Dad figured it out first.

There was also flower crowns and face painting (of course). This is my new favorite picture of all time. Eat your heart out snapchat filter!

They did not get tired of this.
Baby pool. Anne, Max, and Sullivan joined us for this part of the day, we loved having them.

Baking Showstopper: lemon raspberry cake with macrons. Jan and Thad made everything and it was delicious.

That night, to top it all off, we played night games and the kids got to sleep out on the lawn. It was a very full, fun day.

The last day was scheduled to be a Board Game Decathlon, where we planned to have 4 teams play 10 games for board game domination! Turns out we made it through 5 games. Maybe when the kids get a little older we can try again. But LJ made an appearance and it was awesome. I introduced her to the Mighty Baker, she introduced me to her tiny baby.
That night we played our big summer softball game with all the friends and family we could find. And I don't have any pics. But it was pretty fun and chaotic.

This was the on-going craft that I had, it's a hand sewn quilt, each diamond is sewn over a piece of paper, then they are sewn together. We can keep working on it for years and years.

Best Family Ever.
