When I was in Middle School, I realized that the favorite topic of conversation common to all people was talking about themselves. Once I realized this, I decided to play along and encourage the trend.
I resolved never to start sentences with the word 'I' and to avoid placing myself as the subject of any sentence. Instead, in conversation I focused on asking people how they were doing, what they thought of things and basically allowed them to talk about themselves to their hearts content.
In doing this I have found that people enjoy my company more, my humility has increased, and I have learned much about humanity. It also makes it difficult to blog about anything really relevant or important (I think). Anyway, maybe we should all try focusing less on ourselves and more on those around us.

Thanks for the reminder. I really will try harder to remember and do this.
Thanks for the good reminder Toni. I promise to do better in this regard.
Sorry I didn't think the first one posted...
This is a very pertinent little smidge of knowledge. I like you a lot for noticing this.
(Crap, I just started that sentence with the word "I.")
It's okay mom, it's evident that this post affected you
What happens if you have to people who have this resolve attempt a conversation......?
"I" think you are the coolest. "I" talk about how cool you and your blog is amongst my friends. Yup, totally in your fan club!
