California trip

We got to spend an awesome week with amazing Grandparents and one Epic Uncle at Newport Beach CA.

The girls, posing on the surfboard, so excited to finally be in California!

Before we embarked, I bought the girls workbooks to help keep their brains working during the summer. Anna barely cracked hers open but Eliza loved to do hers. I sent her out to get tutored by the best teacher ever. It was super cute.

Their favorite thing was going to Huntington Beach, playing in the sand and surf. We buried them and gave them mermaid tails.

It was hard to keep Calvin focused at the beach (or anywhere), here he is absorbed with digging a big hole with Epic Uncle Thad.

The one and only picture of Disneyland. It was crowded and a hot mess. We are not park people. Eliza liked Small World and we went on it twice, I made us all go on Haunted Mansion, Eliza was against it and cuddled against me the whole ride. When we got off she puked on the ground. Serves me right. Anna wanted so badly to ride Splash Mountain so she got on after an initial delay, rode the log almost all the way to the big drop...and it broke. They had to walk out. She was disappointed. The best thing to happen all day was Calvin taking a nap for an hour and a half! Saved us all.

San Diego Temple! It was cold and windy but very pretty, as always. I let the girls take all the pictures they wanted:

Beautiful african daisies in the landscaping - my favorites.

Anna selfie.

We also went to the Zoo and back to the beach and the pools and a lot of other things. It was a fun trip.
