It's a showdown

What do you do when you get your child a new Toy Story toy and they immediately stop playing with their slightly older Toy Story toy?
It just breaks my heart to see the plot being ignored so blatantly with such identifiable characters.

Do you get what I'm trying to say?

Yes. Ironic. Maybe you should narrate the movies from the toy's point of view for her. "Look how sad Woody is because Andy isn't playing with him--does your Woody get sad when you don't play with him too?"

Of course, then you've kind of got a haunted toy box.

I don't think identifying with your toys' feelings is really the point of the story.
